The 2026 Spring Meetings of the International Monetary Fund ( IMF) World Bank Group were held in Washington D.C from Monday, April 13 to Friday, April 17, 2026.
These meetings bring together central banks, Finance Ministers, development ministers, private sectors and etc. and academics from all 191 member countries. They’re the only global gathering of this to discuss the state of the global economy, financial stability, growth outlook, poverty reduction, and international policy.
The Government of Lesotho represented by the Hon. Minister of Finance and Development Planning Dr Rets’elisitsoe Matlanyane participated in the IMF and World Bank Spring meetings.
The Mission took place against a backdrop of heightened global economic uncertainty – a period characterized by overlapping fiscal pressures, the sustained tightening of international financial condition and deepening structural vulnerability across developing economies.
